Getting Started with the News Press Tool

The News & Press tool is used to create, publish, organize, and manage news articles and press releases that appear on public News & Press pages.

To access it, open the News & Press tool from the Plugins accordion in the Mobi Console.

The News & Press list view shows published articles, article actions, module buttons, and article management controls.

Article Tabs

The News & Press list view opens to the article table. Articles are organized into two tabs:

• Published: shows articles currently available to the public.
• Unpublished: shows drafts or articles that are saved in the CMS but not currently public.

Both tabs use the same general table layout.

Article Table

The article table includes:

• Featured
• Title
• Category
• Publish Date
• Action buttons

The Featured column lets you mark an article as featured. Featured articles can receive special placement on public News & Press pages, depending on the page layout being used.

The Title column shows the article title. Clicking a title opens a preview of the article in a new browser tab. The preview is useful for reviewing article content, but the final public presentation can vary based on the News & Press page settings.

The Category column shows the article's assigned categories.

The Publish Date column shows when the article is scheduled to display or when it became public.

The Action buttons let you preview, publish or unpublish, edit, review history, or delete an article.

Add a News Article

Use Add News to create a new article.

Use Add News to start a new News & Press article.

Use the module buttons near the top of the News & Press tool to open related management areas:

• Profile
• Categories
• Tags

Profile opens the reusable Media Contact and Boilerplate records used in news articles.

Categories and tags are shared content-organization tools covered in separate articles. In News & Press, categories help determine how articles are grouped and which articles can appear on specific public News & Press pages. Tags add descriptive terms that can support filtering and discovery.

The controls you see depend on your CMS permissions. Users with restricted permissions may not be able to access all features.
