Moving and Reordering Pages in the Menu Manager

Use the drag handle on a page row to change page order or move a page into a different place in the hierarchy.

Your ability to move or reorder pages depends on your CMS permissions. Users with restricted permissions may not be able to change the page order or hierarchy.

Reorder Pages

To change the order of pages at the same level, drag a page up or down and drop it in the desired position.

Nest a Page Under Another Page

To make a page a child of another page, drag it onto the desired parent. When the dragged page is positioned to become a child, the target parent is highlighted.

Dropping a page directly onto a parent places it at the bottom of that parent's child list. You can also drop it before or after an existing child page to choose a specific position.

Move a Page Up a Level

To promote a child page upward, drag it leftward and drop it on the vertical line for the higher level.

Rules

  • Pages can be moved only within the current section.
  • Moving a parent page also moves its child pages.
  • A page cannot be dropped onto one of its own descendants.
  • System pages such as Home, Sitemap, and 404 follow the same drag-and-drop rules.

For more about the hierarchy itself, see Understanding Page Hierarchy in the Menu Manager.

Video Example

The video below demonstrates drag-and-drop to create progressively deeper sponsorship levels, then unnesting Bronze and Silver by dragging them left, so they are at the same child level as Gold. It also demonstrates menu reordering by dragging the entire sponsorship group so the parent page and its child pages move together.
